The Wenger Farm is enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program, which funded stream bank fencing and the planting of trees to create a riparian buffer along the Conewago Creek. TCCCA partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to help plant the buffer in May 2008. Since then, TCCCA has been helping the landowner with maintenance of the buffer. Additional trees have been planted at the site as well, through TCCCA partnering with Eagle Scouts as part of several Eagle Scout projects.
In 2011, funded by a Section 319 grant to the Dauphin County Conservation District, off stream watering sources were also installed, eliminating cattle access to the stream.
