In 2010, TCCCA received another Section 319 grant from PA DEP to restore a stretch of the Conewago downstream of Old Hershey Road. Prior to restoration, the stream banks were highly eroded and contributing a lot of sediment pollution to the stream. In 2012, TCCCA’s partner, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, restored approximately 800 feet of stream by grading back the banks and installing mudsills and log veins. The site was seeded and mulched and in spring 2013, volunteers with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation and Penn State Extension worked with Wild Resources, Inc. to plant 125 native trees and shrubs along the banks.

In 2014, a second phase of restoration took place, with another 600 feet of stream restored. Trees and shrubs were planted also planted to restore the riparian buffer.
