A great friend of the Conewago Creek Watershed, John Hertzler, passed away in November 2023. John was a board member of TCCCA for over a decade. John planted literally thousands of trees along Brills Run at the old family dairy farm to create a streamside forest as a lasting legacy and positive impact on the health of the creek. He was one of our most loyal volunteers, planting and tending to trees on his own farm and at many other locations along the Conewago and its tributaries. His contributions to the watershed group and the watershed are innumerable and long lasting. You can read John’s full obituary here.
